Under Fives Play Area.

This play area has been created in the Yorkshire Waterways Museum foyer especially for children under five years old. It is colourful, sale and imaginative and links with the story and heritage of the waterways.

There is also a new role play dressing up area for children. It is free of charge and makes an ideal place for families to meet up for coffee or lunch and a great place for grandparents to entertain their grandchildren during school holidays. This has been funded by the Humber Museums Partnership.

An under fives outside play area  created with a trim trail, role play boat, loud speakers, and colourful springing toys. These were installed by a very reputable company PlayDale from Cumbria and  funded as part of the Tesco carrier bags scheme.

The Yorkshire Waterways Museum is our multi-award winning museum in Goole, East Riding of Yorkshire, England. Our mission is to 'Use the heritage, arts and environment of the Yorkshire waterways as a resource for learning and regeneration'.
The Yorkshire Waterways Café offers opportunities for trainees and volunteers to gain skills and qualifications relevant to catering and customer care.
The workshops offer a unique training experience in wood, metal and plastics for a range of groups from excluded school students, people with brain injuries (to help with their motor skills), individuals with learning difficulties, volunteers and various craft groups. While enjoying the social worth gained while working in the workshops, all who attend can gain qualifications such as AQA's.
The allotments are used as a training resource for excluded young people on alternative education placements. It is a popular project for volunteers who work hard all year round with an experienced supervisor.
Visitors can enjoy a mile-long nature trail which extends along the canal towpath towards Rawcliffe, whilst keeping your eyes peeled for great crested newts, barn owls and several rare species of butterfly.
Or relax by the fish pond and have a picnic.
The Yorkshire Waterways Museum offers Children a safe indoor and outdoor environment to play while parents / guardians relax in the cafe or by the canal side.
